Mourinho was furious at Ander Herrera’s admission that United lacked desire and slammed his team for their lack of application as Huddersfield secured a huge upset.
Gary Neville admits he was ‘stunned’ by
Jose Mourinho’s outburst at his
Manchester United players following the defeat to Huddersfield Town .
‘I thought it would be tough for United because of the atmosphere there but I felt they would come through it,’ Neville told Sky Sports.
‘I didn’t see the game live but I was stunned by the result and also by Jose Mourinho’s comment after about the application of the players, saying it was the worse he’s seen.
‘I’m really surprised – it’s a bad loss for United. Next Saturday becomes a huge game for Manchester United to get back on the bike.’
‘They’re playing against a Tottenham team with great confidence,’ former England defender Neville added.
‘One thing I would say is that the worst Tottenham performance I’ve seen under Pochettino was probably at Old Trafford last season.
‘So it will be interesting to see [how they perform now] after their recent performances. If they play anything like they did today, United will need to be at their best. It’s a big game for both clubs.’
