Jose Mourinho has given his reason for why the side was unable to win the game against Basel that would have secured them Champions League progression.
The Red Devils conceded late in the game in a massive sucker punch for Mourinho and the fans.
A late Daley Blind error gave Basel the chance to score and they took the chance without a second thought.
Mourinho blames his attack as to why they were unable to win the game.
“We lost because in the first half we should be 5-0 but we couldn’t score after being so dominant and so dominant in such an easy way,” he explained.
“It looks for many periods of the first half that it was impossible not to win.”
Even stranger, the boss explained that they don’t even need to win their final group game.
