Cesc Fabregas Pays Great Tribute to ‘Class Act’ Arsene Wenger

Cesc Fabregas has paid tribute on Instagram this morning to Arsene Wenger after his Arsenal departure was confirmed.

"Wow. I never expected that but it shows the great dignity and class of the man. I will never forget his guidance and support, his tutelage and mentorship. He had faith in me from day one and I owe him a lot, he was like a father figure to me who always pushed me to be the best. Arsene, you deserve all the respect and happiness in the world. #classact"

The Spanish midfielder might play for rivals Chelsea now, but he had eight years with the Gunners at the start of his career and obviously remembers that time fondly.

His emergence under Wenger allowed him to go on and become one of Europe’s best midfielders, earning a £25million move to Barcelona in 2011 and then joining Chelsea in 2014 in a 29million deal.

In that time, he also won three major trophies with Spain, including the 2010 World Cup where he set up Andres Iniesta for the winner in the final against Holland.
