Manchester United have been handed a boost in their apparent bid to sign Jerome Boateng this summer after the German club admitted that he could be sold for the right price, according to reports.
The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Red Devils are interested in signing the Germany international this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
According to the same report, the 29-year-old is one of as many as eight centre-halves on Manchester United’s radar this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his defensive options ahead of next season.
Boateng still has two years left to run on his current contract at Bayern Munich, but the German club’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has refused to rule out a possible sale.
Speaking in quotes carried in the same article, Rummenigge said: “If a club comes to us and he says that he wants to join that club, then we will negotiate. But the offer has to be important.”
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Mourinho looks to assemble a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
The Red Devils have already completed deals to land both Diogo Dalot and Fred last week as they begun their summer spending.
Manchester United have not won the Premier League since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
