Paul Pogba had “small issues” with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho this past season.

Pogba joined United for a club-record fee of £89.3million last summer, becoming the world’s most expensive footballer for a time.

He was a regular fixture in the starting line-up in his first season, but lost his place in this latest campaign.

He was dropped to the bench for a couple of games in favour of Scott McTominay, and saw his role questioned considerably more than ever before.

Now at the World Cup with France, he has put those “small issues” behind him.

“It was a better season than the previous one,” he said. “It was an experience. There were some small issues with [Mourinho], but they were nothing in the end.

“Being a substitute, that sort of thing, it helps you to grow. I have to accept.”

Asked directly whether he could leave the club for PSG, he replied: “I am at Manchester, I have my contract here for now.

“It is always great to play with great players. But that does not mean I want to go over there.

“All the rest is just words. That’s it. I am concentrating on the World Cup.”
