It’s all kicking off at Bayern Munich — James Rodriguez is out for the season, they’re close to bringing in one of the Premier League’s hottest talents and they’re leading the race to sign Zinedine Zidane.

Bayern Munich have made Zinedine Zidane their primary target to replace Niko Kovac.

Manchester United officials have been keen to bring in the Frenchman for months, with Jose Mourinho getting off to a rocky start.

But according to The Sun, it appears the Bundesliga giants are leading the race for Zizou as their new long-term boss.

Mourinho faces the sack if United don’t qualify for the Champions League next season, but with Zidane slipping away from their grasp, they may reconsider keeping Jose

Zizou has been out of work since the summer after calling time on his stint at the Bernabeu - in the same month as winning his third European title.

Zidane no only dominated Europe during his two-and-a-half-year spell, he also won the 2016-17 La Liga title to become one of the continent's most sought-after bosses.
