Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been formally warned by the English Football Association about comments he made about the referee ahead of the Manchester derby.
The FA did not believe it was necessary to charge Guardiola because it was his first such offense and the nature of his comments was regarded as largely neutral.
City won the derby against Manchester United, 3-1.
United manager Jose Mourinho was fined 50,000 pounds ($64,000) in November 2016 for talking about Taylor ahead of a Premier League match against Liverpool, but he was already on notice after previously being warned for a similar offense while coach of Chelsea

United fans weren't best pleased that Guardiola managed to avoid a fine
after Mourinho was ordered to pay £50,000 for the same offence two years
ago.
Mourinho was fined in 2016 for saying it would be "difficult" for Taylor to officiate a Liverpool vs United game at Anfield. However, that fine was handed down because it was the Portuguese's second offence of that type.
Two years earlier, before a Chelsea win over Stoke, he had urged Neil Swarbrick to produce a strong performance and been subsequently warned.
That fact was lost on a number of United fans, though, and a few of them raged at Guardiola's punishment
